BSBSMB406 Manage small business finances

Eligible participants under this program:

(a) must be:

  1. an Existing Worker in the Building and Construction Industry; and
  2. an Eligible Worker;and

(b) must be:

  1. an Australian or New Zealand citizen; or
  2. a permanent resident of Australia; or
  3. a holder of a refugee or humanitarian visa; and

(c) must:

  1. permanently reside in Queensland; or
  2. be permanently employed in Queensland; and

(d) must not be:

  1. an employee of any Authority; or
  2. currently enrolled and participating in a school program (excluding eligible school-based apprentices and trainees); or
  3. a contracted trainer and assessor or an existing worker of any RTO; or
  4. already funded by an Authority or other such source for delivery of the same training being undertaken as part of this program; or
  5. previously funded under this program for three (3) short courses in the same program contract period.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to implement and review financial management strategies on a regular basis. It applies to individuals who operate a small business that stands alone, or is part of a department within a larger organisation. Individuals in this role are skillful communicators and interpret financial reports and other numerical data with ease.
