Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) is an independent industry-funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices and career seekers in the building and construction industry. Eligible participants under this program:

(a) must be:

  1. an Existing Worker in the Building and Construction Industry; and
  2. an Eligible Worker; and
  3. if an Apprentice, in the 3rd or 4th year of the apprenticeship; or
  4. an Unemployed Eligible Worker; and

(b) must be:

  1. an Australian or New Zealand citizen; or
  2. a permanent resident of Australia; or
  3. a holder of a refugee or humanitarian visa; and

(c) must:

  1. permanently reside in Queensland; or
  2. be permanently employed in Queensland; and

(d) must not be:

  1. an employee of any Authority (excluding employees of an Indigenous Council that is a Principal Contractor); or
  2. currently enrolled and participating in a school program; or
  3. a contracted trainer and assessor or an existing worker of any RTO; or
  4. already funded by an Authority or other such source for delivery of the same training being undertaken as part of this program; or
  5. previously been funded under this program in the same program contract period; or
  6. enrolled in a course they have previously completed.

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of builders and managers of small to medium-sized building businesses. The builder may also be the appropriately licensed person with responsibility under the relevant building licensing authority in QLD ( refer to QBCC – http://www.qbcc.qld.gov.au/)
