Career Start replaces the previous Certificate 3 Guarantee and User Choice programs and funds entry-level training to help Queenslanders get job-ready.
To access a subsidised place, you generally need to:
Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, an eligible temporary resident on a pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen
No longer be at school (separate options exist for eligible VET in Schools students)
Not already hold, or be enrolled in, a Certificate III or higher qualification (school-completed qualifications don't count)
Not currently be enrolled in another government-funded or unfunded qualification

There are no prior experience or qualification requirements to enrol in CPP20218. But to hold a security licence in Queensland, you have to be a “suitable person” according to the Office of Fair Trading’s criteria.
You won't be eligible for a licence if you've been convicted of a disqualifying offence in the past 10 years, or found guilty of one in the past 5 years.
